Osberton International was a fantastic way to conclude the season for Total Belief who finished ninth in the YH**(CIC).
Standing in the mounted prize giving I felt so incredibly proud for my dad Steve who bred her. She’s our first home bred and when she was born she was completely windswept. We had to bottle feed her, and stand her every four hours. It’s incredible that she now has such an exciting future ahead of her.
She did a great dressage test, with plenty of room for improvement, and then had an unlucky pole showjumping.
She then gave me one of the best cross country rounds I have ever ridden. It was a serious track with some tough questions, some of which wouldn’t have looked out of place on a three star course, but she was superb. It’s the first time I’ve really pushed her on, but we were in a competitive position so I wanted to open her up, and we completed just two seconds outside the time, picking up 0.8 time penalties.
She’ll have a break now, and then it’s be all systems go when she comes back into work towards the New Year.
