A promising day for Team Keen at a very hot Barbury International Horse Trials☀
I was competing both of Margaret Cuffs horses, Barrison and Leaping Lord. Barrison scored a 26.8 on his first time out which is very promising. Unfortunately, he went onto tense up in the main arena, resulting in two fences down which is disappointing as he has been jumping really well. However, he went on to finish his day with a class steady clear round cross country.
Leaping Lord was in the Intermediate Novice where he did a pleasing test for 30.9. He then had a couple of fences down in the show jumping but I was pleased with his performance as he stayed with me throughout the round. He also went onto to have a good steady clear cross country.
A quick turn around for the team to pack the lorry up for Tweseldown. The event put on some really good educational tracks that caused enough problems. Total Freedom was in the 5 Year Old Class. I was thrilled with her all day and she jumped a lovely double clear. Unfortunately she has just missed out on qualifying. Next time the jockey needs to step on the accelerator a bit more!
