A great week with Impuls V at Osberton International Horse Trials, giving his all in every phase in his first CCI2*L.
He certainly isn’t the finished article quite yet, but considering how far he has come in his first year eventing I am so pleased.
We started off with a 29.3 in the dressage, were he felt very on side and produced some lovely work. Cross country day took a fair bit of riding in the wet conditions, but he dug deep and gave me a great spin to post a clear inside the time. Then a couple of rails came down today, when he just tightened over the back of oxers out of mud, but all a learning curve and he just showed a bit of inexperience at this point on the last day.He is such a pleasure to do and so exciting for the future, we are already looking forward to next season with him!
A huge thanks to joint owner Ginnie Wellings for all her support, her partner Paul Williams for the great action shots and to my mega Mum, Crystel Coakes for being super groom – a brilliant week for the team
