A great day at Larkhill with lots going on in the Team Keen camp!
I had an exciting event with three lovely Total Equestrian Construction horses. First up was 6YO Total Miracle in the BE100. He did a stunning test to score 25, sadly he struggled with the show-jumping on the slight slope, being big and young but then felt really confident cross country to post a clear round.
It was then time for Total Freedom’s (Juno) eventing debut again in the BE100. Her test was a little wobbly as to be expected for a first time 5YO, but she then followed it up with a super double clear – I was really thrilled with her and how she took everything on, she’s definitely one to watch.
We also had 6YO Quintessential tackling her first novice. A smart test that scored 25, followed by an unlucky show-jump and a brilliant clear cross country. I didn’t really even feel like I had stepped her up a level and it was great that she took it all easily in her stride. I didn’t wear a watch cross country so it was a lovely bonus that she finished 9th ?
Our apprentices were also on good form, with Leah putting a great performance in the BE100 as did Ellie in the novice to come 5th ?
It was a real team effort all round with everyone getting up early to get the yard sorted and Sarah and Katie coming across to keep the day running smoothly, which was hugely appreciated.
Lets hope we continue to have days like this ??
