After a great run from Cascadelle at Barbury International on Friday, on Sunday we headed down to Bicton Arena, one of my favourite venues, with four horses.
I was absolutely over the moon with my new ride, Peter Holdgate’s Hayestown Clover Quin who won the open novice on a score of 23.8. He’s a super horse and gave me a great feel showjumping and cross country, finishing on his dressage score, the only horse to do so.
All in all it was a really super day with Highmead Proposition (Jake) second in his novice section. He was in the lead after the dressage with a score of 27 but rolled an unlucky pole showjumping. He felt great cross country and he felt really confident showjumping, having felt a little tense in the past.
Total Belief (April) was also really super to finish fifth in her novice section.
